Studio Alexander Beeloo is an architecture studio and works on various assignments ranging from design research to buildings with a focus on sustainable architecture in the landscape context. Through design research, complex issues are investigated with renewed visual answers. The studio is involved in projects from initial design sketch to completion in order to maintain the design from conception to realisation.
Making
Studio Alexander Beeloo designs intuitively where physical making is a big part of the design process. Through the making of physical models, sketches, digital models and precise drawings, the studio fathoms the brief. The design is explored at different scales, from the 1:1 detail to the landscape incorporation of the project. The designs are characterised by the tension between simplicity but at the same time a layered architectural design, this aesthetic is sought through materiality, technique, proportion, incidence of light and sculpturality.
Contextual designs
Studio Alexander Beeloo designs buildings that establish a relationship with the environment in which they are located. Through observation and recording, the context is examined to generate an answer to the task at hand. Architecture and landscape are thus interwoven.
Material
Studio Alexander Beeloo builds with sustainable building materials. For each project, we search for the right material to suit the project and location through material studies and research. The studio works with natural materials that age beautifully. These materials are brought together in a spatial architectural design with refined detailing.
Alexander Beeloo, 1990 MSc. Architecture, studied architecture at the Academy of Architecture in Amsterdam where he graduated in 2019. Besides working as an architect at krft architects he works with Studio Alexander Beeloo on his own projects.
